Why you should not donate to the Salvation Army.

Posted by on January 18, 2010

The Salvation Army is NOT a charity group. It is a religious organization  The Salvation Army is exempt under Internal Revenue Code from filing the Form 990. As a result, their financial status and financial health are not available.  They also discriminate against gays [more].  Always, always research charitable organizations before donating, and DO NOT donate to the Salvation Army.

  1. I’ve either been a volunteer or employee with The Salvation Army for over 30
years. No one asks a potential client what their sexual or religious preference is – all in need receive food or whatever assistance is available – we are all God’s children.
